Blue Fin Vision® has been awarded the Platinum trophy at the AVA Digital Awards 2026 for “ZEISS IOLs – Through My Own Eyes with Dr. Hove,” a documentary-style video produced in collaboration with ZEISS and Shotlist Media. With only 17% of approximately 2,000 international entries earning Platinum, this is among the highest honours in digital communication.
An International Platinum for a UK Story
Mr Mfazo Hove, founder and lead consultant at Blue Fin Vision®, has been recognised with a Platinum Award at the AVA Digital Awards 2026 for the video entry “ZEISS IOLs – Through My Own Eyes with Dr. Hove.” The AVA Digital Awards is an international competition administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), one of the longest-established evaluators of creative work in the marketing and communications industry, with over 200,000 entries judged since its founding in 1994.
Entries were received from across the United States, Canada, and more than a dozen additional countries. Each submission is evaluated individually by experienced industry professionals against a rigorous standard of excellence, with Platinum reserved for entries scoring 90–100 points. This year, approximately 2,000 entries were submitted, and only around 17% earned the Platinum distinction, making it the competition’s most selective honour.
What the Video Represents
“ZEISS IOLs – Through My Own Eyes with Dr. Hove” captures Mr Hove’s unique perspective as both surgeon and patient. With more than 50,000 cataract and refractive procedures to his name, Mr Hove developed early cataracts due to uveitis and chose to have ZEISS AT LISA® tri-focal lenses implanted in both eyes. The video, produced by Berlin-based creative agency Shotlist Media, translates that experience into an accessible, patient-facing narrative, illustrating what happens when clinical authority meets honest, transparent communication.

As a ZEISS Key Opinion Leader, Mr Hove collaborates with ZEISS’s European medical technology teams to refine the clinical use of premium intraocular lenses and biometry systems. His insights have been showcased at international forums, including the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) 2025, where he presented data demonstrating exceptional results with ZEISS AT LISA® tri-focal lenses. The Platinum AVA trophy now adds international creative recognition to that body of clinical work.
